Impact Starter Grants
Please note: we are not currently accepting applications for Impact Starter Grants. We expect to launch new calls for IAA Impact Starter Grants, Follow-on Fund projects, and Knowledge Transfer Fellowships in late 2021 or early 2022, for projects to start from 1st April 2022 onwards. Guidance for this scheme will remain as below.
Funding is available to support EPSRC-funded academics and researchers with the costs of initial engagement with non-academic research users, assessing the market potential of early stage technologies and short-term impact projects up to 3 months in duration. Funding can also be used to support short-term industry placements to transfer knowledge from EPSRC funded research.
Funding of up to £20,000 per project is now available for the following categories of expenditure:
- Staff time for
- an impact project at the University, or
- on secondment to a partner organisation
- Travel/conferences
- Workshops/events
- Public engagement
- Technology road-mapping
- Consultancy for market research/business planning
All projects must demonstrate a clear link to EPSRC-funded research.
Applications will be assessed on a competitive basis, and must be submitted on the application form to researchstrategy@admin.cam.ac.uk by the deadline of 22 November 2021.
